Pavers
Interlocking surfaces in multiple profiles
Overview
Interlock spreads vehicle load across the surface instead of driving it through a single slab — which is why a paved driveway outlasts a poured one under traffic.
A concrete slab under vehicle load cracks at its weakest line and then keeps cracking. An interlocking surface moves instead: each unit transfers load to its neighbours through the joint, the whole field flexes slightly, and nothing has to fail for the surface to cope.
The practical benefit arrives later. When a service trench has to go through, you lift the units, dig, backfill and relay the same pavers. With a slab you break it out and pour again, and the repair is visible for the rest of the building's life.
